Becca’s New Year’s Resolution
New Years Resolutions seem to be the same from person to person. The most common New Years Resolutions are to get fit before the summer rolls around, get rid of old clothes, drink less alcohol, eat healthier, spend less time on Facebook and watching TV and start spending more time with family and friends, learn a new language, travel to new places, volunteer in your local community, and finally quit smoking (If you haven’t quit yet, come into your closest Vixen Vapors. We can help with that!). These are also the most commonly broken New Years Resolutions. I have decided instead of a traditional New Years Resolution this year, I will chose one that is more likely to be followed through on. 2016 has not been an easy year for me. To make 2017 a little brighter I have decided to redo my room from top to bottom. I feel it is time for a change, a big change. My room has been the same terrible colors for the past ten years. It looks as if 7th grade me still lives here. Pink, Blue, Green, Yellow, and each wall is a different color. I am hoping to turn my room into a more inviting, warm, and welcoming place. I want my room to reflect more of who I am now instead of who I used to be. Changing my room for me is like spring cleaning, out with the old and in with the new! Out with yesterday’s bad relationships, the bad decisions (which at the time did not seem so bad), and everything holding me back from my full potential. This past year, though it has been one hell of a bad year, I am thankful for all I have learned, all of those who have been there for me during the hard times and all of those who have loved me along the way. Each experience life has brought me I try to take the lesson that is hidden inside. I want to change more than just my room. I want to grow as a person, see what all life has to offer. Take more chances and make more memories.
Whatever 2017 holds in store for me, good or bad, I am ready. I am ready for the next lesson, the next adventure, and creating new and lasting experiences with those that I hold dear to my heart.
