The Musical Tastes of the Distribution Center
Music is an incredible thing. It has the ability to bring people from completely different walks of life together and unite them, and form bonds that can last a lifetime. However, it can also show which people will just never completely mesh. Here at the Distribution Center we have a whole three employees (I know, seems crazy), so our personal taste in music has a lot to do with our daily work life. I am lucky enough to work with a very dear friend that happens to have many of the same opinions on music, and the genres we prefer, as I do. Our boss, however, does not share those opinions. Not even in the slightest. We have a system for deciding what to play though, majority rules.
We both, my friend/co-worker and I, have a very deep love for all things EDM techno, and we love to jam out to it every chance we get. We love everything from progressive house and melodic trance to the dirtiest, nastiest trap and dubstep you can think of. Granted, we do listen to other genres as well, but the majority of it is some form of EDM techno. Nothing makes your day zoom by faster than listening to music that you love and can lose yourself in. To be completely honest, we are not really completely sure what he likes other than some rock, Kanye, and sports talk radio. If I’m being even more honest, neither of us can stand the latter; we’re not big sports fans.
When all three of us are at work, which is five days a week, we don’t agree on music 100% of the time, clearly. But, like I said, majority rules. One of the absolute best, and most awesome, things about working in the Distribution Center is that we have tons of bass and killer speakers. Every avid music lover in the world knows just how important that is, and how much better it can make your day. Luckily, we don’t have customers that we deal with face to face so that gives us total musical freedom with things like Pandora, Spotify, and YouTube. Not everyone is lucky enough to have free range when it comes to what they listen to while they are at work, and we do consider ourselves very lucky for having it. What genre of music is your favorite to listen to while you’re at work?
